A Coastal Hillside Garden Reimagined in Lower Largo

From hand-selecting stone on frosty mornings, working through storms and sudden bursts of sunshine this is beautifully traditional garden built with traditional materials with heritage, heart and craftsmanship in every inch.

Traditional Materials, Timeless Detailing

Every detail has been shaped through close collaboration with Joy Grey, garden designer. From the first sketches to the final placement of stone, each decision was a conversation, each refinement a step forward in bringing her vision to life on this complex site. The project became more than a build — it became a journey we genuinely enjoyed from start to finish.

Traditional, hand selected materials such as reclaimed stone discovered during excavation, hand-dressed whin, granite and a layout that honours the character and charm of the original space

Pathways that feel timeless

How it all started.

A steep, wind-exposed garden overlooking the sea, with tight access and logistics that changed by the hour, demanded real determination and good humour from the team. Every day brought a new challenge — shifting weather, coastal winds, the constant dance of machinery and materials — yet the energy on site never dipped. It became one of those rare projects where the difficulty of the terrain only strengthened the team’s resolve and pride in the work.
